Donald M. Koll (1933-2011)
Mr. Koll founded The Koll Company in 1962 creating what would become an international organization that offered the full spectrum of real estate services including development, acquisition, and management services. Since its founding, The Koll Company and its predecessor entities developed more than 90 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space throughout the United States, Mexico and the Pacific Rim.
Don Koll circa 1967 Mr. Koll also served as chairman for affiliated companies, including Koll Construction and Koll Resorts International, and was a partner in Koll Center Travel and Koll Bren Schreiber Realty Advisors (KBS), a real estate investment advisory firm, which manages approximately $2.5 billion in assets. Additionally, Mr. Koll was on the Board of Directors of The Irvine Company, Fidelity National Title, CB Richard Ellis, Grubb & Ellis and Wells Fargo Bank. He is a past presidential appointee to the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Red Cross. Mr. Koll earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.
